Brusho on textured canvas

This piece is created on a treated canvas where Gesso was applied and then a mixture of solvents. The texture was obtained with a sponge to give some relief points on the canvas. Using a limited palette, the three flower heads were loosely painted using 'Brusho' powder paint which, when mixed with water, gives the painting a watercolour effect. The free flowing stems, painted in outline, provide movement and contrast with the static flower heads.
