The scent of this plant reminds me of my childhood when on walks during hot summer days, it permeated the air. It grew on the hedgerows near my home and every time I smell it now, I think back to those carefree days. In this painting, I wanted to capture the delicate flowers of the cow parsley and its clumped form. The stark white flowers contrast with the deep, brooding dark leaves and stems behind giving it that wild, unkempt look as if growing on a hedgerow by a layby.
