This is another painting inspired by Ansell Adams' photography and created on a canvas coated with the special mixture used in other paintings to give it a rough texture. In this snowy winter scene, the trees at the front are seemingly shadowed by the lighter trees at the back. However, on closer inspection, those background trees are not an exact image of the ones in the foreground. So can they be shadows?
