Acylic on textured canvas
39 x 29 cms

This painting of tree trunks was created on a specially textured canvas. A plain canvas is covered with Gesso and a mixture of other glutinous products. The rough, knobbly texture is achieved with sponges and other tools applied to the glutinous mixture. It is left to dry overnight and then the tree trunks were painted with acrylic. They are deliberately depicted bunched together to indicate a dense forest. The name is taken from one of my favourite goth songs of the 80’s ‘A Forest’ by the Cure.
