I called this painting of a heron in flight ‘Grace’ because the shape of the bird, it’s large wingspan and it's movement across the sky is very graceful. A heron symbolises nobility, longevity, intelligence, and independence and by composing the painting with a large golden sun behind the bird, emphasises this. A heron also symbolises self-reliance, stability, tactfulness and careful forethought which are things we'd like to achieve personally. So painting this heron has meant a lot to me at this stage of my life.
