This is a first in a series of local paintings from photos I took whilst on my usual walks through the woods near where I live. I loved painting the snow which I was surprised to learn is not pure white, but a bit muddy brown in places. The verdigris bark on the trees provide an interesting contrast with the prominent brown and white in the rest of the landscape.
